The visit to Crich Tramway Village on 29 May was our first event since 2019, following the easing of restrictions. There were 12 Magnettes, including unusually no less than four blue Varitones, and also Paul Batho's MGA. Most of us were able to park inside the museum on the main street, with cobbles, tram tracks and the reconstructed Red Lion providing a photogenic backdrop. Early cloud cleared to a glorious afternoon and we enjoyed riding the trams, looking round the static exhibits and of course chatting around the cars

24th Magnette Day
One of the very few events so far took place on the last weekend in June on the outskirts of Salzburg/Austria (not Australia). The Corona restrictions allowed to have the event and so 15 teams from Austria, Germany, Luxemburg and Switzerland followed the invitation of Thomas & Christina Nebauer and Jörg & Vroni Wiefler, who already organised this event some years ago. This time they choosed the Erentrudisalm, a former convent, as our home. This is located above Salzburg, wirh a fantastic view - and a nice hillclimb.

Lou Shorten Tribute Weekend 5-6 Oct 2019
This season the rain gods decided they did not like our beloved Magnettes – consider the evidence:
MG Live was cancelled so that the track could be resurfaced – local TV news film showed the machines under cover due to flooding where they were supposed to be working – poetic justice.
Your committee met at the Shelsley Hill Climb for an informal meeting which we held standing under umbrellas.
At the 2 day meeting at Kop Hill the weather flattered to deceive as Saturday was dry and bright but breezy. A glorious Sunday morning was followed by monsoon like rain which stopped the event for 2 hours, while the Register gazebo proved a very popular refuge until play was resumed.
What happened at Norwich? – well, just read on.

Harrogate MG Show 3-4 August 2019
Ee bah gum – what a perfect venue the Harrogate MGOC have found for their rally. Despite floods in parts of Yorkshire and Derbyshire, the River Nidd at Pateley Bridge was unaffected and Harrogate MG 2019 incorporating the MGOC Northern National was well and truly on, bigger and better than ever before.
