Dragon thunder Rally

Nestled between India and China at the eastern end of the Himalayas and the southern edge of the Tibetan plateau, Bhutan’s population numbers less than a million, yet its cultural heritage is exceptionally rich – it is known as the happiest country in Asia. It is also blessed with spectacular environmental diversity, from snow-capped mountains to sub-tropical forests and lush meadows, and an astonishing range of wildlife.

Gathering of the Faithfull – Wagga Wagga 2015

A good turnout of Magnettes made it to the GOF and over the next few days their owners enjoyed some great social and driving experiences as well as some of the finest weather to be had.  Most of the Sydney contingent travelled together and we stopped at Crookwell to have a short visit with Sydney Vintage Car Restorations.  The group was very impressed with the cars under restoration especially a Fleetwood Caddy and a very rare Riley that was virtually built from a few original parts and a couple of photographs.  Amazing.  The fuel gremlin struck Brian Woolmer’s car near Boorowa and after a tow to a workshop the blockage was cleared.  The starter gremlin hit Dave Overington’s car just as we tried to head off so a further delay ensured to have a go at fixing it.  Both cars made it to Wagga Wagga a couple of hours later than the others.

Kop Hill Climb

The weekend of the 19th and 20th of September saw the running of the now, annual Kop Hill Climb. This event is a demonstration rather than a true competitive event. It is a recreation of an event that was run from 1910 until 1925 when an accident involving spectators led the RAC to ban racing on public roads.

T-Register ‘T’ Party

Sunday, August 2nd was a ‘non-register organised event’ as we were invited to the T-Register’s T-Party at the Shuttleworth Trusts’s Wings & Wheels event, Old Warden Aerodrome.

The weather was perfect, sunshine and light winds. 5 Magnettes attended plus a Magnette owner who, instead of his Magnette, came in the TA which he has just brought back to life.

The Magnette Register were invited to join Harrogate MG Club in celebrating their 30th Anniversary event at Bewerely Park Pateley Bridge over the W’Kend of August the 8th / 9th.

On a Glorious Saturday morning a number of Magneteers met up with David Griffiths (Our Magnette Man “up North”), who with Wife Sandra had put together a very informative run with numerous places to visit, prior to meeting up for the Magnette AGM at The Oatlands Moat Club (their local MG natter venue – organised by David at no cost to the Register!)
