Hi Trevor and Andy,
Thanks for your responses. I am having attempt to have a new engine pipe made, and also a bespoke to bracket to hold the pipe to the bell housing or gear box in an effort to hold the pipe more rigid. Will see how that works.
Thanks & regards,
david Miles

Hi David

Following on from Andy's comments thought you may be interested in a couple of photos, the whole exhaust is £430 complete plus carriage, gives more torque and more power, Andy was one of the first Magnette owners to fit the exhaust and helped to iron out a few of the fitting problems, for which I am grateful

Takes about 10 days to make.

Kind regards
Trevor

Hi David,

One of the problems with this joint is that the clamp can become "handed" after while through distortion, and if it is removed and replaced the opposite way round, or if the two halves are mated up wrong then it will be very difficult to get a good seal. By taking care about this I have succeeded in re-using the same clamp until it rusted through! A smear of "Gun Gum" on the mating faces might also help.

For other reasons I have now gone the "header route" using Trevor Jones' Derrington copy header made here in the UK

Hi Again,
The clamped joint between the exhaust manifold and engine pipe always has been a problem with my ZB Magnette. I don't necessarily want to go to the expense of headers as available from the US, so was just wondering if other owners have any hints or advise with regard to obtaining an effective and durable seal.
