I spoke to the guy at Pembroke classics , he has a birch grey ZA and it sounds very good, and looks very good, there are very lttle differences between the ZA and ZB , extra power, higher diff ratio,and a few cosmetics. It has not been messed with and is very original with history, may be worth a look, I think the price would be open to discussion.

The only "problem area" is the rear bumper it looks like a stainless steel repro, but Peter may have a spare that needs a rechrome if it an issue.

David Halliday has a ZB Varitone which may be available, the engine is a 1622cc but is out of the car at present, David is a great guy with too many cars, he is also an Aussie but we don't hold that against him.

A ZB or Varitone would be ideal with the slightly higher power and higher back axle. I tend to like standard cars but some modifications like indicators and a 5 speed box are sensible additions.
Having been to see the car in Sussex that gives you an indication of the price I am willing to pay for the right car.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it., he may have a car that he has been asked to find a new owner for , can you be a bit more specific on what you are looking for? A standard ZB or a Varitone , standard or modified etc. and an idea of price range.
The register does get asked to dispose of cars, for instance there are two cars in south Wales which require needing to be put back together all the hard work has been done on the Varitone, original reg number etc. £3000/£4000 could possibly buy both cars.

When you find a Magnette you will need to keep in contact Peter as he looks after the spares, and is a tremendous help to us all.
