Z Magnette Day
The 16th edition of the Z Magnette Day was a bit ill-starred:
Firstly the date clashed again with MGLive in Silverstone, so some Magnetteers couldn't come.
Secondly, Dietrich's (the organiser!) ZB cylinder head wasn't finished - he arrived in an MGA
Thirdly, the Rommes family Magnette wasnt roadworthy, even after a long week work on it - the four of them were separated on the other Magnettes
Fourthly, my engine still isn't ready after months of waiting - I also took the MGA
And fifthly, Malcolm's car broke down with clutch trouble on the long way from England
But after all, all those who arrived (at least four Magnettes) had a lot of fun over the weekend.
It was nice to see new faces (and Magnettes). Richard und Carsten with Susanne were new to the event, while Wolf-Dieter & Renate attended before.
And Pieter & Sieneke are faithful attendees sinceseveral years, like Yves & Sonla with their daughters.
Dietrich & Conny organised a nice event, which was located at the Naturfreundehaus Hoher Meißner, close to the former border between West- and East-Gernmany. The scenic tour was wonderful and lead us through some places of Mother Hulda a very famous German tale by the Grimm Brothers.
