Impressions from Australia

Some pictures from the Victorian Magnette Register outings in October 2002:

The first two photos come from a picninc run we held to the Coastal township of Queenscliff, about 70 miles south of Melbourne.

The third photo is from an event we held last year when a number of us and our partners spent the weekend in central Victoria, at a place called Nagambie.

The Magnette Register of the MGCC in Victoria, Australia has grown rapidly over the past year. In previous years it was not uncommon for just 1 Magnette to show up at the annual Concours event. Not a good turnout when you consider that up to 250 MGs of all types would be displayed on the day.  Well, to illustrate how much things have changed over the past year, 11 Magnettes turned up to this year's Concours, including a number of fully restored cars, a couple of original examples and a few "daily" drivers.  The growth was so rapid we organised a weekend away so that everyone could get to know each other. We headed up to Echuca on the Murray River (about 200 kms north of Melbourne) which separates the states of Victoria and New South Wales. Paddle steamers still use the river and the Port of Echuca, albeit only for tourists nowadays.

Our trip was from the State capital city [Melbourne] to Echuca [Border town on the river] for the weekend and returning via ,Rushworth , a mining town in the centre of our State.

Picture of me sitting down on a paddle steamer [Not obvious] at Echuca .The soft drink is my drink .
