Magnettes & Steam 2003
The final tally of MG Magnettes attending the Register's Easter Saturday Magnettes & Steam event on the 19th of April which was organised by Malcolm Eades at Horstead Keynes station on the Bluebell line was as follows :
A total of 28 Magnettes comprising of 12 ZA's, 4 ZB's & 12 ZBV's attended. There were no Farina's this time (unless you include the Wolseley 16/60 which was in the main car park which wasn't part of our register event).
This was an extremely good turn out given that it was a bitterly cold day all day which was disappointing after Good Friday being an extremely warm and sunny day. No doubt the power's to be are saving the good weather for our 50th aniversary year celebrations next year!
Peter Martin, Competitions Sec.
I'm afraid it was not very convenient to take pictures of the cars and the railway as we were parked in the general car park away from the trains.
Peter told you we had a very good turn out with some excellent condition Magnettes, the day was bitterly cold and drivers and passengers made for the waiting rooms on the station with a warm fire and then on to the trains. I did get a few pictures but not very good I'm afraid, as the cars and trains are separated. Our registrar David Johnson is on one photo walking amongst the cars but unfortunately some had started to leave. David was able to give us his expertese on the Southern Railway as the Bluebell line is a fine example, plenty to see.
