I found his car in october 2003 and found it worth buying. Today in a poor shape and with no engine or gearbox. Ideal donor car for my 15384. A bit too good to scrap though. Maybe in future fit an MGB engine. Time will tell. Per Malmros,Sweden

The car was rebiult 15 years ago and is still in good condition. The engine is still original. Runs reliably on the MG-meetings. Last winter I changed the diff. from 4,875 to 4,3. Makes the driving in 80-90 km/h comfortable. The picture is from a meeting this year together with my brother's MG TD. I am the 9th owner since the first registration the 13 October

The car has got three previous owners  and has not been in traffic since 1976. I bought it in 1996 and I'm rrestoring it (slowly) since then. The car was in a very bad shape but almost complete, the only thing done with it in the past was a respray in a different color in the early 70`s.
It's finally time to update the info on my car, that has been under restoration for the past thirteen years. I'm now happy to tell you that the car is out on the road again for the first time since 1976. The engine has been replaced to an 1800 cc Morris MarinaTC engine since the original engine gave up it's breath during the first test run this year. A sudden short loss of oil pressure and all that work was for nothing...Also fitted with some nice 17" wheels...

The picture was taken on the Albula Pass (Canton of Grisons, Switzerland) at an altitude of about 2100 m. The car is an exellent climber and until now I never had problems with overheating, not even on the Stelvio, with more than 2800 m the peak of all European passes.
The car was first registred in Basel, Switzerland, on October 1st, 1956 as a RHD export version. During the fifties it was not unusual to drive RHD cars in Switzerland. The car always remained in Switzerland, having a extensive restauration in the early eighties. Since then the various previous owners did not use the car often, so it is still in perfect condition and very reliable.

This car is an unrestored early version of the MG Magnette ZA. Since it has Chassis number 1251 it is exactly the 750th Magnette ever build! Of course it has the tin-top dashboard. I bought the car in Belgium and it is an original Belgium car originally delivered by “Romain Richard & Fils” in Namur on 3th of December 1954 (date of the first registration). According to the Hertitage certificate the Date of Build is 12-21 May 1954 and it has been despatched on 24 May 1954. The car has been in Belgium ever since until end of 2012 when I have imported it to the Netherlands were it got the Dutch license plate AR-64-17. Since it has been an original Belgium car it has of course Left Hand Drive and it has a kilometre speedometer. Although it is an unrestored car prior to the official Dutch registration the complete brake system and the front wheel suspension has been reconditioned. A new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, the fuel hoses are renewed, same with the cooling hoses, the carburettors recalibrated and a master electrical switch (battery cut off) has been fitted. And at last rear seat belts has been fitted to accommodate two child seats. Since then we made some fabulous trips with our two small children on the back seat but sometimes they may play on the front seats (which the prever!).

Original Duch car with orig. registration. Car bought new by fam. Van den Brink at Garage Bolland in The Hague. Second owner was a mechanic, who bougt the car in 1969 from the garage where the car traded in and kept it a few years. Third owner was Hielke dam from Heerenveen, who kept it from about 1970 till about 1979. Fourth owner was Piet Jan van Duren at Ruinen. he owned the car untill November 7th of 1984 and sold it to the 5th owner Oebele Bruinsma at Roden. After a year he brought the car back to Piet Jan van Duren. On February 20th of 1987 I bought the car and so I believe I am the 6th owner. Car is, after it has been used as the second family car until 1995, under restoration and waiting for completion.

In the early 1970's this Magnette belonged to Bart Spoelstra, who was the owner of the MG Workshop in The Hague The picture was taken in 1974 during a meeting of the Dutch MG-clubs at the Zandvoort Circuit. The Dutch registrar Henk Kroese confirmed that the car is still running after a complete restoration in 1995. It's creme over light green  The car was assembled in Durban/South Africa (which might explain the sun visor!) and imported to the Netherlands in 1971 and later converted to LHD. It is said to be a '55 ZB what must be a mistake as ZB's were introduced as late as autumn 1956.
