KA A 33 1251 This car is an unrestored early version of the MG Magnette ZA. Since it has Chassis number 1251 it is exactly the 750th Magnette ever build! Of course it has the tin-top dashboard. I bought the car in Belgium and it is an original Belgium car originally delivered by “Romain Richard & Fils” in Namur on 3th of December 1954 (date of the first registration). According to the Hertitage certificate the Date of Build is 12-21 May 1954 and it has been despatched on 24 May 1954. The car has been in Belgium ever since until end of 2012 when I have imported it to the Netherlands were it got the Dutch license plate AR-64-17. Since it has been an original Belgium car it has of course Left Hand Drive and it has a kilometre speedometer. Although it is an unrestored car prior to the official Dutch registration the complete brake system and the front wheel suspension has been reconditioned. A new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, the fuel hoses are renewed, same with the cooling hoses, the carburettors recalibrated and a master electrical switch (battery cut off) has been fitted. And at last rear seat belts has been fitted to accommodate two child seats. Since then we made some fabulous trips with our two small children on the back seat but sometimes they may play on the front seats (which the prever!). |

4067 |
KA J 23 4067 Purchased in 1956 in Armidale NSW Australia by my father Norman McGrath . The MG 457 plates are original NSW issue not personalised plates. The old man loved his Maggie, but being a country lad, he was into horses, so Maggie carried it's fair share of hay bales and saddles. Originally dark grey, Dad figured MGs should be red and got his mate to give it a (shabby) paint job in the late 60s. Apart from the colour change the car is in original condition with 67,300 miles. I've had it since 1990 and kept it garaged, dry and running. My sons are 19 & 17 and we've been working on the mechanics recently, it's great to have their Grandpa's car to tinker with. I still have the three original manuals, very helpful. We wont go concours on it as we want to keep lots of it's personality. The body is rust free, I think we'll go back to the original colour, new front seat leather and carpets, the headlining is in good condition and dash is still pretty good. Might put wires on it one day? |
