Z Magnette Day 2005

For the 9th time a number Magnettes and their owners from across Europe assembled for a weekend well known for BBQ and bonfire in a relaxed atmosphere. The mixture of the event with a lot of  time to talk and a bit of scenic drive seems to attract more and more people:

After some cancelations in last minute and some owners using their modern vehicles due to failure of the M.G. still 14 Magnettes arrived in the small village Heinsberg in the Sauerland.

Friday:

The Friday afternoon was very hot with 30 + degrees Celsius. But I haven't heard of any Magnette suffering with overheating on the long journeys (up tp 600+ miles trips). So the crews from Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands,  Sweden and different directions in Germany arrived thirsty in Heinsberg. We helped with some cold drinks while sitting in the shade and welcoming the parties. It was good to see old friends again and make new ones as well. Sometimes it was putting a face to an email-address.
After a simple dinner everybody was invigorated again and we enjoyed a warm summer night sitting outside with more cold drinks...

Sunday:

I had as much sleep as the night before and was trusting effect of good coffee again - and it worked... All others looked much more relaxed! Before we left for another scenic drive  it was time to present the "Ray Cain Trophy". Register chairman David Johnson handed the trophy to Henk Kroese, who does a superb job in Magnette matters in the Netherlands.
The following tour guided us over some hills to a stalactite cave where we again went unter the surface but with different impressions. The event ended at the cafe when people had to leave and said ggod-bye until next year.
May I use this site to say thank you to all participants. You were great and it was a nice weekend! Also special thanks to Eddy Lepez, who took most of the pictures.
